The Indian Cultural Society (ICS) of Jacksonville holds a rich history, reflecting the journey of the Indian community in Northeast Florida and its dedication to preserving, promoting, and sharing the vibrant cultural heritage of India. Its roots trace back to the mid-to-late 20th century when a small but growing group of Indian immigrants, students, and professionals began settling in Jacksonville.

In the 1970s, as Indian emigrants sought ways to stay connected to their homeland, they came up with a creative and heartfelt tradition. These gatherings became a cherished way for the Indian community to come together, celebrate their culture, and create lasting memories.

As word spread, more families joined, turning these gatherings into a beloved tradition, not just for entertainment but as a meaningful way to celebrate heritage and nurture deep connections within the community.
